Clear aligners move your teeth into the correct position without being noticeable to the people around you. Our treatment consists of a set of clear aligners precisely adapted to your teeth that slowly move the teeth in the right direction. You wear the aligner for 22 hours a day and swap it for a new aligner with a new correction every two weeks. People around you will barely notice the aligners and the aligners can be taken out for eating and drinking at any time.
The biggest difference between clear aligners from bestsmile and fixed braces is that our aligners are practically invisible. The aligners are made of clear plastic and are therefore more comfortable to wear than fixed braces.
Clear aligners don’t affect your daily life because they can be taken out at any time. This also makes dental hygiene much easier than with fixed braces. We care about the environment: after completing your treatment, you can recycle your aligners with bestsmile.

It’s simple: you wear the clear aligner for 22 hours a day. Every two weeks, you swap to a new aligner. Your teeth shift little by little as you go.
After the scan that takes place during your appointment at our practice, we create a 3D animation of your dental correction. This is your personal treatment plan with all steps and of course the final result – the smile of your dreams.
You should wear the bestsmile Aligner at least 22 hours per day. After 14 days you swap to the aligner with the next higher number. Only then do your teeth have enough time to move into the desired position. You can simply take out the aligner to eat, drink sweet beverages and brush your teeth.
Our clear aligners are made of medical PET (polyethylene terephthalate)/PU (polyurethane). They contain no BPA or other plasticisers.
Instead of using an unpleasant mould, that was quite common in the past, we use state-of-the-art 3D scanners for the impression, which are completely painless. In a few minutes we scan your teeth and part of your gums. During the second appointment we will discuss the treatment plan with you and using special orthodontics software, we use a 3D model to show you how your teeth will look after completing the treatment. Our dental technicians calculate the shape of your aligners in very small steps. We then produce the aligners using a special plastic in Switzerland.
All of our aligners are manufactured with state-of-the-art technology in Switzerland. A treatment can only be carried out with an appropriate preliminary consultation and a positive decision of the bestsmile dentists.
In our experience, almost all customers are satisfied with the results. But even in spite of our Swiss-made quality standards, it cannot be guaranteed 100% that the results will match the prognosis in all cases.

Our clear aligners are suitable for the correction of crooked teeth in adults aged 18 or older. Exception: with a declaration of consent from legal guardians, treatment is allowed for people aged 16 or older. We treat slight to moderately severe corrections. Gaps, crooked teeth, and twisted or crowded teeth can be corrected with the treatment.
Our dentists will determine whether your tooth position is suitable for correction after your first free appointment and 3D scan.
Crowns and missing teeth are no problem. With implants, however, special provisions must be arranged. Our dentists will examine your teeth and give you feedback. But please let us know before your first appointment if you have a crown or bridge or if you have had some other type of treatment in the past.
Yes, bestsmile only treats people aged 18 and older. The exception is that treatment is possible for people aged 16 or older if a written declaration of consent is provided by a legal guardian before the first appointment. Our clear aligners are less suitable for younger teenagers and children because tooth and jaw development is still ongoing.
Our trained team of dentists can only make a final decision concerning the suitability for aligner therapy after the first appointment.
No, there are no health risks associated with our aligners. As you can take out your aligner at any time, maintaining good dental hygiene is no problem either.
You should not start your bestsmile treatment during your pregnancy. We advise you to book an appointment after your pregnancy.
On average, treatment with clear aligners from bestsmile takes between 3 and 12 months. The more complex the case, the longer the treatment takes. However, the more you follow the rule of the 22-hour wearing time per day, the higher the probability that we will be able to complete the correction within the discussed treatment period.
Yes, crooked teeth and gaps can be corrected with our clear aligners. The bestsmile dentists decide whether the desired correction is possible in your case. The important thing for all corrections is that you wear the aligner for 22 hours a day.
In most cases, treatment with the clear aligner is not painful. You’ll feel a gentle pressure on your teeth, but that is absolutely normal. The aligners are working to move your teeth into the right position, and that requires exerting a bit of pressure. However, it is important to wear each aligner for 14 days – even if you no longer feel any pressure.
In the initial phase of the treatment, you may notice it while talking and speak with a slight lisp. Your teeth and tongue have to get used to the foreign object. But that goes away fairly quickly and is usually not even noticeable.
Simply remove the aligner before eating or drinking and place it in the provided box. While wearing the aligner, you should avoid consuming food or sweetened, acidic and alcoholic drinks as they can compromise the shape and colour of the aligner. Normal water and unsweetened and cold drinks are no problem – with or without the aligner.
We recommend that you don’t do that. Chewing gum can stick to the aligner and damage it.
There are no forbidden foods. You can go about your life just as normal. Simply remove your aligner before eating or drinking so that you won’t damage it. Otherwise everything’s allowed.
We recommend that you take the aligner out when you smoke. Smoking can cause discolouration or weakening of the aligner.
You can wear your bestsmile aligners for hiking, fitness or running – sporting activities don’t affect the treatment. But they do not replace the mouthguards required in sports like boxing and ice hockey. Therefore, we recommend to remove them for these activities.
You can clean your aligner with cold, running water. You can also use a normal toothbrush with a bit of white toothpaste. In more stubborn cases, you can also add special cleaning tablets to the water to eliminate all impurities. After every orthodontic tooth correction, the teeth have a tendency to slowly return to their old position. To prevent this, it is recommended to wear a retainer. Together with your bestsmile Aligner Box you will receive your retainer aligner. This has the same shape as the last aligner of your treatment, but is a little thicker so that it remains stable over a longer period of time. This retainer aligner has to be worn only at night to ensure that your results are lasting and that your teeth do not move again.
We recommend that you wear your retainer aligner every night for the first 6 months after the treatment. After that, 3 nights a week are sufficient. Alternatively, we can apply a fixed retainer, which will ensure that your teeth do not shift again. The fixed retainer costs CHF 400 per jaw.
Yes, your bestsmile dentist will invite you to a so-called "recall appointment" with us to check that the result will be long-lasting.
In more complex cases of dental correction, attachments are needed to achieve the desired result. They allow for bigger movements of the aligner and provide it with more force. The attachments are glued to the teeth before the treatment and are removed again after the treatment. Don't worry – they are adapted to the colour of your teeth so that nobody will notice.
Our dentists will tell you in advance if attachments are necessary in your case. We offer treatment with attachments for an additional CHF 400 per jaw.
On your second appointment, you pay a one-time fee of CHF 100 for your individual treatment plan, but this amount will be credited to your account if you decide to proceed with the treatment. In the basic version, your aligners always cost CHF 1990 for one jaw or CHF 2990 for both – no matter how long your treatment takes and how many aligners you need to achieve the desired results. The result is what matters. There are no hidden costs. In complex cases, attachments may be necessary. These cost CHF 400 per jaw. Your bestsmile dentist will tell you if you need them before you place your order.
You can also pay for the treatment in monthly instalments. This option is available from CHF 40 per month. We will check in advance with our partner, the MF Group, whether payment by instalments is possible in your case.
All of our appointments are free. After your first appointment, you pay CHF 100 for the creation of your treatment plan. If you decide to start the treatment with the bestsmile aligners, the fee of CHF 100 will be credited to the total amount. If a correction is not possible in your case, you will get your money back.
With us, you’ll have just two appointments before starting your treatment. Our dentist will follow you through the entire process with regular appointments. No matter how many appointments you need – all of them are already included in your final price. bestsmile focuses on Switzerland as a production and working location and is characterized by consistent and digital processes and the use of the latest technologies. We have dental practices all throughout Switzerland. We are happy to pass on the resulting cost advantages to our customers.
You can pay us at the practice with a credit card or EC card or we can send you a bill. Thanks to our partner company, the aligners are affordable even on a small budget. If you would prefer to pay for the treatment in instalments, this option is available starting from CHF 40 per month. We will check in advance with our partner, the MF Group, whether payment by instalments is possible in your case.
Whether or not your health insurance provider will pay for aligner therapy varies widely depending on your insurance. Every health insurance provider handles dental corrections differently. Some supplementary dental insurance policies do pay the costs for our treatment. It’s best to check directly with your health insurance provider. If you do have a supplementary dental insurance, we would be happy to give you a cost estimate, which you can send to your insurance provider. You may request the detailed invoice after the last appointment.
The app is available to all our customers. It supports you in your personal progress control and reminds you in self-chosen intervals to wear the aligners.
Download the bestsmile app in the AppStore/PlayStore, open the app and select “Register” in the upper right corner. Then enter the e-mail address that you have registered with bestsmile and the activation code that was sent to you via e-mail (if you did not receive an activation code, please contact the customer service, we will be happy to send you one again). Then choose your password for your future login. Please also allow push messages and access to the camera so we can support your treatment in the best possible way.
You will get the activation code via e-mail when you start your treatment. If you did not receive one, this may be due to the fact that your e-mail address is incorrectly stored (or you are using a different one than the one you registered at bestsmile). Or you have started your treatment before the launch of the app, then please contact our support (email@example.com) – we will be happy to send you an activation code.
Please make sure that you are on the registration screen and not on the login screen (you can switch in the upper right corner). Here you can register with your e-mail address and the activation code sent to you by e-mail. It is important that you log in with the exact e-mail address that you have registered with bestsmile. Select the menu item "Change password" in the settings. Here you enter your previous password and your new one. Please confirm your new password by repeating it in the third field. Then confirm the process by pressing the button "Change password".
On the login screen of the app you can click on the link “I have forgotten my password” below the login button. Then enter your e-mail address, which is stored in the bestsmile store and request your new password. Now you should have received an e-mail to reset your password in your mailbox.
Yes, you can. Contact the shop or support (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will be happy to send you the activation code by e-mail. Basically, the treatment progress is synchronized when you register. If you had to wear an aligner for more than 14 days, you can set your individual start under "Adjust treatment step".
The timer serves to support you in your goal to wear the aligners at least 22 hours. Let the time run when you wear the aligners and pause the time when you take the aligner out. Don’t forget to turn on the timer again when you put the aligner back in again. We calculate in the background how close you are to your target and show you the average time – so you are always well informed about how well you are doing.
In the app, you can access it on your profile by clicking on the "My treatment plan" button. Please make sure that you have an internet connection.
On the aligner time tracking screen you can pull up the white section, at the very bottom you click on “Adjust treatment step” and choose which aligner you want to insert (basically, the next aligner with today’s date is shown). Then confirm the aligner step and start date. At the same time, the time of the last aligner is stopped and the time of the new aligner is started. If your bestsmile dentist advises you to change the order, you can also make the change here. Please make any changes to the order of the aligners only in consultation with your dentist.
You can move the white section upwards on the current aligner step. At the bottom you will find the button "Adjust treatment step". Here you can select the current aligner step and its start date.
No worries. Click on the time entries in the time tracking below. There you can adjust your time or add a new wearing time by clicking “+”.
If you have not given permission to send push messages at the time of registration, please first make sure in the settings of your smartphone that the bestsmile app is allowed to send you messages.
You can then select the frequency of the reminders in the app, either via the bell in the top right corner of your profile or via settings in the “Reminder” menu. Choose the frequency and the time at which you would like to be reminded to wear the aligners and confirm this with the save button.
The scan itself takes just a few minutes. But we set aside half an hour for each appointment in order to discuss all the details and the initial prognosis with you.
Yes - you can also hand in your x-rays later. The important thing is that we receive your x-ray before the treatment begins so that we can check the health of your teeth. Don't you have one yet? Then please contact your bestsmile shop or your family dentist.
Yes, just let us know 24 hours in advance if you can’t make it. The best way to let us know is by phone so that we can find a new appointment for you.
It’s best to let us know. We understand that sometimes things happen and it’s not possible to arrive at the practice on time. We may still be able to treat you when you arrive. Otherwise we will arrange another appointment.
